John McAfee

John McAfee is a controversial figure in the computer scene.
After completing his studies, he works for important companies, despite some alcoholism problems with which he fights from a young age.

He works for NASA, Xerox, etc., but it is while working at Lockheed that he meets the first computer virus (for Ms-DOS) ever made: Brain.
We are in 1986 and McAfee receives a copy of this virus and begins to study a way to stop it, it is the origin of the McAfee antivirus.
He senses a business opportunity and in 1987 he founded the company McAfee Associates, the first company to implement anti-virus for computers.

At first, the software is distributed free, it seems that there was a caravan called the McAfee Paramedic Unit, with which John was going around the country going to advise on infected PCs.
However, in 1989 he left Lockheed and devoted himself entirely to his company.

Meanwhile, the software has become paid or you find it already installed in the computer, the fact is that John collects a lot of money.
Then comes the episode Michelangelo, is a virus that is activated at a certain date and was discovered before its activation date. John goes to television to warn of the problem and the possibility that tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of computers are at risk and obviously says that their antivirus is ready.
There is a boom in sales of McAfee antivirus, but once the date is taken into account, it seems that the computers affected by the virus are very few, the public accuses John of having inflated the threat to art.
A bad period began for John at McAfee Associates, in 1992 he left his company and devoted himself to something else.
After several steps, McAfee is acquired by Intel in 2010, which still maintains the original name of the product.

In recent years he suffers the most varied accusations, he is even suspected of murder but comes out clean from all charges.

He now teaches yoga and has written many books on the subject.

In 2016 he was a candidate to become the new US president.
