MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems) (USA)
xNote: MITS was a calculator manufacurer before 1975, that year his founder, Ed Roberts, decided to built a low-cost hobbyst computer, the Altair 8800.
This computer was a little success, and MITS solds $5 milion of Altair. The dream ended in 1977, when Roberts sold the company to Pertec. Pertec discontinued the Altair line in July 1978. Then Triumph Adler bought what was left from Pertec.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen, future Microsoft founders, develpoed the Basic for the Altair, using the success that this computer received after it appeared on Popular Electronics magazine in January 1975.
